The Modular Course of Study

The Modular Course of Study is a model curriculum to fulfill the educational requirements for ordination in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. It has been validated for use within the United States and Canada. Faculty and student guides containing core material and complete instructional plans for conducting learning sessions are electronically distributed on CDROM from Clergy Development, or may be downloaded from this website.

The Modular Course of Study is also available as online instruction through Northwest Nazarene College at http://www.nnu.edu/cos/

The Modular Plus Program is available as online instruction through Nazarene Bible College at http://www.nbc.edu/

The Alliance Curriculum

The Alliance Curriculum is offered by a consortium of district centers. The district centers follow syllabi and textbooks utilized in the validated programs of Nazarene Bible College—Colorado (NBC). NBC hosts an annual meeting of district center directors and faculty.

The Directed Studies Program [discontinued 12/31/05]

The Directed Studies Program (DSP) was an individualized study program offered by the denomination. Students independently read assigned textbooks and supplemental texts before completing a proctored examination over each instructional unit. The DSP will no longer be accepted for credentialing in the Church of the Nazarene with the release of the 2005 Manual. Students currently enrolled in the DSP should work with their District Ministerial Studies Board to receive credit for work done and to complete the course of study through a validated curriculum.
